TV on the Radio

This brooklyn-based “critical darling” group has had the music press swooning for some time. Their last record, and major label debut, had me flummoxed though. Feeling they were a little too smart for their own good and too absorbed in their own rough edges, I was put off after one listen and didn’t revisit the album again.

Well I’ve changed my tune with this new single. And I’m loving the video. Or maybe it’s just hard for me to resist choreographed dancers in cop outfits. This one’s weird, Enjoy [“GOLDEN AGE”]:

Stepping Stone

Duff’s Saturday Night Live performance this wekeend was totally solid (tho can we have live back-up singers instaed of canned vocals, please?). She’s released a new video for my favorite track on the album:

womanizer

this new britney single is just a crappier version of “ooh ooh baby” from the last album.  not impressed.

Miami Beach Pool Party

The Shore Club in Miami has a DJ “spinning” next to the pool…but I can guarantee they’re really playing a mix on loop….I think I heard this little thumper every 6 hours. Like, they started cranking it at breakfast.

 Ahh, Miami.

Kerli

this adorable little Ukranian freak show never really took off. but i stil love the song.  [“Walking on Air”]

Miami!

In Miami for a work conference…it’s late and ridiculouslu loud outsude of my hotel room. But I’m 10 stories up, I’ve got a balcony, theweather”s beautiful — what’s not to love.
This Jon Cutler gem sounds just right [“It’s Yours”]:

Is this really happening?

Spring Awakening is the big high school production at Beverly High on the new 90210. Tonite’s episode: opening night. Ohmigod, they’re doing “the Bitch of Living.” Too much for me to process…

Lykke Li – Little Bit

I keep hearing about this girl. Yet another Swede aiming for our shores. I feel like she’s right up my alley but I’m not entirely sold as yet. Think it may grow on me. I enjoy the random dancers though. Thoughts?

This is addictive

Not only is this song totally addictive…but it’s good to know that he’s apparently just as ‘over it’ in this video as he was when he was slinging drinx at our local/hell’s kitchen gay watering hole, Posh.

Good job, Cazwell. I wouldn’t want to pour me a beer either. Be a superstar instead! [“I Seen Beyonce at Burger King”]
